Approvals and requests
How carers submit requests and how approvers manage them in the Approvals queue.
Teiro has a structured approvals workflow so carer requests are handled consistently and nothing slips through.
What can be requested
- Leave — annual leave, sick leave, personal leave
- Availability change — updating regular working hours
- Standing instruction edit — requesting a change to a recurring job or customer instruction
Submitting a request (carers)
Carers submit requests from the Teiro app. Requests appear in the Approvals queue for coordinators and approvers instantly.
Acting on a request (approvers)
Open the Approvals screen to see all pending requests. Each card shows the carer, the type of request, dates, and any scheduling impact. Approve or reject with a note.
Notifications
The carer receives a push notification when their request is approved or rejected, along with any note from the approver.
Audit trail
All approval decisions are logged — who approved or rejected, when, and any notes. This is available in the activity feed and compliance reports.
