Claiming rules

The following rules apply when claiming this support item through the NDIS portal or via a plan manager.

Non-face-to-face supports

A portion of this line item can be claimed for supports delivered remotely (phone, video) or for provider travel time. Providers must document the nature of the non-face-to-face activity.

Provider travel

Providers can claim reasonable travel time and costs associated with delivering this support. Kilometre rate and time caps apply — refer to current NDIS pricing arrangements for travel claiming rules.

Short notice cancellations

If a participant cancels with less than 7 days notice (2 days for some supports), providers may claim up to 100% of the agreed support price. Document the cancellation and reason before claiming.

NDIA managed

Available to participants whose funding is managed directly by the NDIA. Claims are submitted via the NDIS myplace provider portal.

Plan managed

Available to plan-managed participants. Invoice the participant's plan manager — do not submit to the NDIA portal directly.

Self managed

Available to self-managing participants. The participant pays the provider and claims reimbursement from the NDIA. Price limits do not apply for self-managed participants, though providers should document the agreed rate.

Teiro applies the right rate automatically

When you build a roster in Teiro, the correct NDIS line item rate is calculated based on shift time, day, and location — no manual rate lookups, no spreadsheet errors. Compliance documentation and claiming records are created as part of the same workflow.
