Support plan tasks on a shift
What a support worker sees from the customer's support plan on each shift, and how to answer the tasks.
When a customer has a current support plan, you see the plan's tasks on the shifts they apply to. This article explains what you will see and what to do with it.
Where to find the tasks
Open the shift in the Teiro app. The tasks from the customer's current support plan that apply to that shift are listed on it.
You only see the tasks that match this shift. A task can match on service type, day of the week, time of day and how often it should come up. If a task is not on your shift, it is not scheduled for this shift. If the customer needs something that is not on your list, tell your coordinator. For example, a weekly task will be on the first matching shift of the week, not every shift.
What each task shows
Each task has a label and instructions written by the coordinator. A task is also marked required or optional.
Read the instructions before you start. They are the coordinator's notes on how this customer likes the task done.
Answer the tasks
Answer each task on the shift. Your answers are saved against that shift.
Tasks marked "This service only"
Your coordinator can add a task to a single service. It appears at the top of your task list with a This service only tag. It is not part of the customer's support plan and will not come up on other shifts. Answer it the same way as the other tasks: Yes, No or N/A. If it is marked required, you will be warned if it is still unanswered when you check out. You cannot add, edit or remove these tasks yourself. If one is wrong, tell your coordinator.
If the plan changes
Coordinators can change a customer's plan at any time. If a plan changes:
- Tasks you have already answered stay on your shift, with your answers.
- Tasks you have not answered yet follow whichever plan is current.
What you cannot do in the app
- You cannot edit the plan or its tasks. If something in a task looks wrong, tell your coordinator.
- You will not see draft plans. Coordinators only share a plan with carers once they make it current.
- You see the tasks for your shift, not the whole plan.
For coordinators
Tasks and the rules that decide which shifts they appear on are set up in Managing support plans. Tasks for a single service are covered in Add a one-off task to a single service.
