Choose a Date Range That Moves: Last Week, Last Month, Financial Year to Date
Use moving date ranges in Teiro exports and report rules so "last month" always means the month just gone, not the dates you picked once.
Overview
A fixed date range is right for a one-off question: "what happened between 1 and 14 October?" A moving range is right for anything you repeat. "Last week" always means the week that just finished, whenever you export, and a report rule that uses it never needs editing.
Teiro works out the dates in your organisation's timezone each time the export or rule runs.
Pick a moving range
In the export sheet, under Date range, switch from Fixed range to Moving window, then choose from the list.

| Today and Yesterday | The one day. |
| This week and Last week | Monday to Sunday. |
| This month and Last month | The calendar month. |
| This quarter and Last quarter | The calendar quarter. |
| Financial year to date | From 1 July to today. |
| BAS quarter | The business activity statement quarter. |
Under the picker, Teiro shows exactly what the range means today, for example Resolves to Mon 19 Oct to Sun 25 Oct 2026. Check that line before you export.
Which one should I use?
- Checking worker invoices after month end: Last month.
- A Friday afternoon summary of the week: This week.
- A Monday morning look back: Last week.
- Year to date totals for your bookkeeper: Financial year to date.
Moving ranges in report rules
Report rules use moving ranges only. That is deliberate: a rule that sent the same fixed dates every Friday would be sending the same file every Friday. See Email a report on a schedule.
