How to Run Visits Without Check-In and Check-Out in Teiro
An admin turns off check-in and check-out for visits in Org Settings. A worker then opens today's visit and marks it completed with a single button instead of separate check-in and check-out steps, adding a note afterward.

What this recording shows
This is a 48 second screen recording of an admin turning off check-in and check-out for visits in Teiro, the care management platform used by Australian NDIS and aged care providers, followed by a worker completing a visit and adding a note with the setting off. It was recorded on a phone, in the Teiro carer app, on the real product.
Turning the setting off
Check-in and check-out is on for every organisation by default. An admin turns it off from their profile, under Org Settings, in the Visits section, by switching off Require check-in and check-out. This is admin-only and it applies to the whole organisation, not one worker at a time.
What a worker sees instead
With the setting off, a worker opens today's visit from the app home screen the same way as before. Instead of separate check-in and check-out steps, the visit screen shows a single Visit completed button. There's no timer running and no GPS capture while the visit is in progress.
Client not home still works the same way
Client not home is still available on the visit regardless of this setting, because it's a welfare-reporting action rather than a check-in step. This recording shows it opened and available before the worker moves on to complete the visit.
Completing the visit and adding a note
The worker taps Visit completed when the work is done, and the visit's status updates to Completed. Notes are written after the visit is marked completed rather than as part of a check-in or check-out step, so the worker adds their note once the visit is done. The saved note shows on the visit with the time it was written, which is the record of when it was actually added.
What changes, and what doesn't
Turning this off removes Teiro's automated missed check-in alerts, since there's no check-in event left for them to fire against. It also changes how Teiro works out claim quantities: instead of a recorded check-in and check-out time, it uses the visit's scheduled start and end time.
